Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV
After comparing this TV to the equivalent of the 550 series, I decided to go with the 650 because of its better contrast ratio and 120 Hz Auto Motion Plus feature. The glossy screen looks even better if you can put the TV in order to avoid the glare. I have four windows in my living room, and so far have had no problem with glare. The picture quality is just gorgeous. The colors are vivid and blacks are more true than on any LCD I’ve ever seen. The default backlight setting was a bit ‘too bright and has caused some eyestrain when viewing in a dark room if not, so I turned a few notches. For a while ‘, I discussed getting a 40 “screen, but eventually decided on 46″ and I’m glad I did. It’s like having a window in the movie, instead of being aware that you are watching on TV. The Auto Motion Plus helps sometimes, but other times can be too distracting (as others have said, that makes everything seem like a soap opera). I keep it on low when it looks nice, and shut it down otherwise. A minor annoyance that is the feature of AMP is buried beneath a few layers of menus, then it takes some effort to switch it on and off. A shortcut button on the remote would be nice.
