The LG 42LH50 42-inch LCD HDTV is currently one of the few LCD HDTVs in the market that can stream content from Netflix. After it is connected to the internet through a LAN cable (there is no built-in wi-fi capabilities), and if you are a Netflix subscriber, you can instantly watch any of the thousands of movies that are available from the Netflix collection.

The new LG 42LH50 42-inch LCD HDTV also comes with Yahoo widgets where you can access a variety of information such as weather info, news snippets, twitter and so on. You can also view YouTube content on this HDTV. Unfortunately, the quality of the YouTube videos is not very good and you can’t access the HD feature for YouTube videos. Nevertheless, the Yahoo Widgets and the YouTube feature on this model were very responsive, making it much more pleasurable to use compared to other HDTV models in the market.

Besides those cool extra features, the LG 42LH50 42-inch LCD HDTV is a very competent television set. It has a classy and understated design, with a black glossy frame and clean lines. The screen rests on a swivel stand that can be rotated in various directions. This model is one of the most customizable TV set I have ever seen. You can tweak almost any image adjustments imaginable (including color temperature, a 10-point white balance control, color filters and much more). There is also 9 image viewing modes to choose from. In terms of image quality, the LG 42LH50 42-inch LCD HDTV may not be the best in the market, but it does a pretty good job playing DVD and Blu-ray movies.
